Behind the Bottle: Afterglow
Why we formulated a body oil like a facial treatment
Most body care products are designed to do one of two things.
They either smell beautiful or they moisturize.
Afterglow was created with a different intention.
From the beginning, I wanted a formula that felt luxurious enough to become a ritual and active enough to create noticeable changes in the skin itself. Something that invited you to slow down and enjoy the experience while quietly doing the work of supporting softness, suppleness, hydration, and skin vitality.
The result is a deceptively simple formula built around four oils and a thoughtfully layered aromatic blend.
The Botanical Foundation
Rosehip Seed Oil
Elasticity • Radiance • Skin Vitality
Evening Primrose Oil
Moisture Balance • Barrier Function • Resilience
Olive Squalane
Hydration • Softness • Silken Finish
Sweet Almond Oil
Nourishment • Softness • Glide
Together, these oils create a formula designed to support softness, suppleness, and lasting hydration while transforming body care into a daily ritual.
Rosehip Seed Oil
If Afterglow has a star ingredient, rosehip may be it.
Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, carotenoids, and antioxidant compounds, rosehip has earned a devoted following for its ability to support smooth, vibrant, healthy-looking skin. It is often incorporated into high-end facial formulations designed to support elasticity, luminosity, and skin renewal.
Many body oils rely on inexpensive carrier oils alone. Afterglow includes rosehip at a level more commonly found in premium facial products because the skin on the body deserves the same thoughtful attention.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose oil contributes one of the formula's most important functions: support for the skin barrier.
Rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), evening primrose has been widely studied for its role in maintaining healthy skin structure and moisture balance. It is particularly appreciated by individuals with dry, mature, or environmentally stressed skin.
Healthy skin is not simply hydrated. It is resilient. Evening primrose helps support that resilience.
Olive Squalane
Squalane is one of those ingredients that often inspires immediate loyalty.
Derived from olives, it closely resembles lipids naturally present in healthy skin. Lightweight and exceptionally elegant, it absorbs beautifully while helping reduce moisture loss and improve skin comfort.
Much of Afterglow's silky, non-greasy finish comes from squalane.
It leaves the skin feeling nourished rather than coated.
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil provides the foundation that holds the entire formula together.
Rich in oleic and linoleic fatty acids, it helps soften and condition the skin while creating the luxurious glide that makes body oil such a pleasure to apply.
A ritual should feel beautiful from beginning to end. Sweet almond oil contributes as much to the experience as it does to the function.
The Signature Aromatic Blend
While the botanical oils support the skin, the aromatic blend supports the ritual.
The Signature blend opens with creamy sandalwood and warm cardamom before unfolding into soft floral notes of geranium and lavender. Benzoin lends a subtle amber sweetness, while cistus and black pepper add warmth, depth, and complexity.
The overall effect is warm, sensual, comforting, quietly sophisticated... and maybe just a tiny bit addictive.
Ember
Ember explores a different side of the Afterglow philosophy.
Where Signature is luminous and radiant, Ember is deeper and more contemplative.
Patchouli, rose, frankincense, sandalwood, benzoin, and cistus create a rich, resinous foundation layered with spice, warmth, and subtle citrus brightness.
It feels like candlelight, woodsmoke, velvet, and late evening conversations.
A scent for those who prefer their beauty with a little mystery.
More Than Moisturer
Afterglow was formulated to be both beautiful and effective.
A sensory ritual rooted in thoughtful formulation.
The enthusiastic response from our tribe of Afterglow devotees suggests that the skin appreciates the combination as much as we do. Again and again, we hear about skin that feels softer, smoother, more supple, and more vibrant after consistent use.
Every ingredient was selected with intention.
Because body care deserves more than an afterthought.
Because beauty and function belong together.
And because caring for the body can be more than a routine.
It can be a glorious ritual.
For those who speak the language of archetypes, Afterglow is deeply Venus-coded. Not beauty as perfection, but beauty as participation. The daily practice of inhabiting the body fully. The cultivation of pleasure, softness, and sensory delight. A reminder that devotion need not be grand to be transformative. Sometimes it looks like fragrant oil, warm skin, and five unhurried minutes at the end of an ordinary day.
